[...] NBA Playbook » Morning Shootaround: Toronto Getting The Best Of Orlando The game I wanted to take a deep look at was the Magic-Raptors game. I thought it was interesting that the Raptors beat the Magic at their game. They hit 9 out of 20 threes, and looked real good on offense. They also played some defense (which is enough for them), holding the Magic to just 29% shooting from deep. [...]

The more game/play analysis I see the more I realize most NBA telecasts are pure hagiography where announcers and analysts (at the game or in the studio) do little to enhance the game. Basketball is so much more than dunks and threes but you wouldn't know it from the way the NBA is portrayed. In football John Madden and his offensive line analysis educated his audience, hopefully someone will take this type of forum to TNT or ESPN.

Hey, really nice article.

One disagreement: Bargnani is actually pretty big, and has become a quite solid post defender. The raptors last game, he handled Tim Duncan in single coverage, and as you saw in this one, he did a good Job on Dwight as well (although he eventually fouled out).
