Hawks’ Poor Communication Leads To A Three
The Hawks were trailing the Bucks all night last night, but in the 4th they were able to cut the lead down to 6 points with about 4 minutes left. If the Hawks would have been able to get one more stop, they really could have put the pressure on the Bucks, however a mistake defending a simple pick and roll cost them that opportunity.

As Brandon Jennings comes off of the Kurt Thomas screen, everything seems to be in order. It is a really good screen by Thomas, so Al Horford is probably going to be forced to switch, but that shouldn’t be a big deal.

As Jennings tries to turn the corner, Jamal Crawford steps up. This is mistake number 1. There is no real reason to step up, since Crawford was already in help position. As he steps up, he puts himself in worse position to close out on Carlos Delfino.

What makes this even stranger is that Horford backs off of Jennings and Crawford picks him up. It is like they executed a switch, but nobody went to pick up Delfino. As it is, Joe Johnson remains on Kurt Thomas, as Al Horford drops back to pick him up. You know have 3 Hawks defending 2 Bucks, leaving Delfino wide open in the corner (where he shoots the best from).

Jennings hits his man, and nobody even goes to close out on Delfino. Delfino knocks down the three pointer and the Bucks pull away from the Hawks for good.
