About

About NBAPlaybook.com:

  • Why would a center pop instead of roll on a screen?
  • Why the zone gives some teams so much trouble?
  • How do different teams run the pick and roll differently?
  • What was that coach thinking late?

If you have any of the above questions (or a question like it), NBAPlaybook is a site you will enjoy.  NBAPlaybook.com is a site dedicated to the playcalling of the NBA.  We will use videos, images, and words to breakdown and dissect games and important plays in the NBA, and try to get to the bottom of what coaches and players are thinking.

About the Staff:

Brett Koremenos took over as Editor of Playbook in December of 2011. Brett has a background as a high school and player development coach working with middle school through professional players in Wisconsin. You can email him at brettk1113@gmail.com or follow him on Twitter with @BKoremenos.

Sebastian Pruiti is the founder of NBAPlaybook.com and he is a 24 year old graduate student.  Sebastian has always enjoyed the xs and os of the game, and he was even a volunteer assistant for NJIT during their 2008-2009 season.  Sebastian’s pipe dream is to become a coach or a scout for a NBA or college team (if you want to hire him, don’t hesitate to e-mail).  Sebastian is the former editor of NetsAreScorching.com, which is a NJ Nets blog that is affiliated with ESPN through the Truehoop Network.

You can e-mail him over at sebastian@nbaplaybook.com

I just found this site; it looks great, and I’m excited to follow it regularly. One (extremely small) suggestion: it’d be nice if the banner at the top were also a link to the home page, or if there otherwise were a more prominent link to the home page from any page. The home button is a bit small.

I agree that the banner at the top should also be a link to the homepage. I often mouse over it and am surprised that the arrow doesn't turn into a finger. An overall redesign of the site with new icons and what have you would be great too. None of this, however, will keep me from coming back because Sebastian has the best analysis and breakdowns I've seen period.

i like this site…try to improve on it…analysis of different types of plays: misdirections; lob plays; 1-4 sets, sideline plays: different philosophies (flex, isolations, UCLA; triangle, pick and rolls, etc). That would be great. Histories of the different offensive and defensive philosophies would be great too….i love this side of basketball. It's like watching chess. Thanks for the site…i've been waiting for this!!! will constantly monitor this site now.

Hey, I really like your insight into the game. I really love the videos you're putting out and the analysis as well.

Hey man, you’re doing some REALLY good work. Your site is great. I’m young student from Europe, who want to be a coach too, just like you, and your site is really helpful to understand some parts of the game. Keep it’ doing, cheers.
